Collection: Pier Coffee Roasters

Based in Gravina in Puglia, southern Italy, PIER Coffee Roasters represents a contemporary expression of Italian coffee culture shaped by experience, travel, and a growing focus on specialty coffee. The project evolved through direct relationships with producers and coffee professionals, deepening its commitment to sourcing high-quality coffees and roasting them with care and intention.

The roasting approach balances tradition and modernity, aiming for sweetness, structure, and clarity while maintaining the familiarity and comfort often associated with Italian coffee. Alongside specialty selections, blends remain an important part of the offering — designed for everyday drinking and brewed to accompany daily routines rather than occasional moments.

PIER first came to my attention through several coffee shops in Rome serving their coffees, offering a different perspective on how specialty coffee is evolving within Italy. A solo road trip through Southern Italy in 2025 further deepened that interest, highlighting how locally rooted the specialty scene remains. Partnering with Luigi, an award-winning taster and roaster, and including PIER in the debut lineup feels like an honor — bringing a Southern Italian voice into JONNY through coffees that balance craftsmanship, approachability, and a strong sense of place.
